Puppy Thefts, Domestic Battery: Darien Cops
Two men are seen on video stealing puppies from a house, report says.

DARIEN, IL — In the last week, Darien police handled cases involving puppy thefts, domestic battery, DUIs and damage to property. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Puppies stolen

- A house in the 7900 block of Knottingham Circle was burglarized about 5:15 a.m. Sept. 28. Video showed two men removing four French bulldog puppies and leaving in a black two-door car. Entry was made by forcing open the front door. The loss was estimated at $3,000.
Domestic battery
- A couple, both 25 and of Darien, were arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on two counts of domestic battery. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Isaiah Strong, 32, of Chicago, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Q Bar, 8109 S. Cass Ave., on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- John O'Connor, 73, of Downers Grove, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 27 near Cass Avenue and Frontage Road on a charge of DUI. He was released and given a date to appear in court. According to a police report, O'Connor was found asleep in a vehicle with an open door. The car was in a driveway.
- Cortez Harris, 31, of Lockport, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday near Cass Avenue and Hinswood Drive on charges of DUI, driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. According to a police report, he got into an accident. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Sheena Norwood, 33, of Woodridge, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at 87th Street and Lemont Road on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of open alcohol, endangering the life and safety of a child, failure to properly secure a child under 8 and failure to yield turning left. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Damage
- A side mirror of a bus was damaged between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27 in the 900 block of 67th Street. The loss was estimated at $250.
- A tenant broke a window at a home to gain access to spare keys in the 7600 block of Sawyer Road. The loss was estimated at $190. The report was filed Friday.
