
The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Aug. 23
- A passenger side window was broken on a car and a purse was stolen while the car was parked in a lot in the 7100 block of Clarendon Hills Road sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Loss is $50.

- A business' window was broken with a car part by two unknown offenders at 4:40 a.m. at Pep Boys, 6818 Route 83. Nothing appeared to be missing, and property damage was $300.
- Kelley Brennan, 24, of Countryside, was arrested at 2:42 a.m. at Wakefield Drive and Aylesbury Lane for DUI, improper backing in roadway, illegal squealing of tires, improper parking in roadway, failure to signal and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Brennan was processed and given a court date of Oct. 2 at DuPage County Judicial Center.
- A wallet and cell phone was stolen from a scooter basket at Walmart, 2189 75th St., sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. Loss is $20.
- Ruvicela Valadez, 44, of Joliet, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. in the 1300 block of Plainfield Road for driving without a valid license and operating a motor vehicle while use an electronic communication device. Valadez was processed and given a court date of Sept. 20 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.
Aug. 25
- Thomas Heylin, 19, of Hometown, was arrested at 9:34 a.m. in the 8300 block of Lemont Road for driving while license suspended and speeding. Heylin was processed and given a court date of Oct. 4 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.

- A wallet was stolen from a shopping cart between 1:30 and 2 p.m. at Jewel, 7335 Cass Ave. Loss is unknown.
