Residential Burglary, DUI: Darien Police Reports

Darien Police reports through June 6.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

May 29

  • A front passenger window was shattered by unknown means between 8:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Plainfield Road. The approximate damage is $300.

June 1

  • Asphalt equipment was taken from the bed of a locked truck at M&M Asphalt, 1501 N. Frontage Road, sometime between 4 p.m. May 31 and 11 a.m. June 1. The loss was $1,875.
  • Unknown offenders wrote on fresh concrete sometime between 7 a.m. May 31 and 5 p.m. June 1 in the 1600 block of 71st Street. Approximate damage is unknown.

June 2

  • A home was broken into through a window that was pried open in the 1000 block of Troutlilly Lane sometime between 11 a.m. May 31 and 11 a.m. June 2. Jewelry was removed. The approximate value of items is $5,000.

  • David Kindt, 24, of the 1300 block of Chapman Drive, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. at Darien Club Drive at Exner Street for reckless driving, reckless conduct and domestic battery. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

June 4

  • Xavier Wheeler, 19, of Westmont, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. at Cass and Hinswood for suspended driver's license. Wheeler was processed and released with a court date of July 12 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.

June 5

  • Curtis Irby, 33, of Chicago, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. at Lemont Road and 83rd Street for two counts of DUI, improper stopping in the roadway and failure to signal. Irby was processed and released with a court date of July 17 at DuPage County Judicial Center.
