Retail Theft, DUI, Criminal Damage: Darien Cops

Retail Theft
At 5:44 p.m. on April 18 an officer was dispatched to a 911 hang-up call from Walgreens, 7516 Cass
Ave. which was later determined to be a retail theft. At 5:40 p.m. a store employee
observed an unknown male black offender and unknown female black offender remove
miscellaneous items from the store and exit without paying for them. The approximate
loss was $319.82

At 7:25 a.m. on April 19 an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 2189 75th St. for a suspicious
vehicle call later determined to be a retail theft. At 7:21 a.m. a store employee observed
an unknown male black offender and unknown female black offender going past the last
point of sale with unpaid merchandise to a car in the lot. The approximate loss was $2,637.
At 10:10 p.m. on April 20 an officer was dispatched to Walgreens, 7516 Cass Ave. for a delayedretail theft. A store employee observed an unknown female black offender remove three boxes of diapers and other miscellaneous items and exit the store without making payment. The approximate loss is $1,960.31.

DUI
At 2:21 a.m. on April 20 an officer on patrol in the 800 block of Plainfield Road observed a vehicle
driving in between two lanes. Spiro Papageorge, 68, of the 7706 block of Gail Avenue was
arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and improper turn.
Criminal Damage to Vehicle
At 8:48 a.m. on April 20 an officer was flagged down by the victim of a criminal damage to motor
vehicle that occurred April 19 at Sportsplex, 451 Plainfield Road. Victim advised
unknown offender(s) damaged the door of their vehicle between 4:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
Burglary from Motor Vehicle
At 12:47 p.m. on April 23 an officer was dispatched to 925 79th Street for burglary from motor vehicle. Sometime April 23 between 10:30 a.m. to 12:47 p.m. unknown offender(s) removed
two laptops from a vehicle parked on the driveway. The approximate loss was $2,400 no
other information at this time.
