Retail Theft, Suspended License: Darien Police

Man discarded stolen items when he saw an officer, police said.

DARIEN, IL — Darien police responded to cases involving retail theft and suspended driver's licenses in the last week. Here are the latest reports from the Darien Police Department:

  • Jorge Granados, 37, of Joliet, was arrested about 10 a.m. March 13 at Home Depot, 2101 75th St., on a charge of felony retail theft. A store security officer told police that Granados was recognized from a previous contact. He discarded stolen items when he saw a police officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • George Spaniak, 21, of Romeoville, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. March 11 on Route 83 near 67th Street on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and speeding 35 mph over the limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Bethany Jones, 31, of Woodridge, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. March 12 on Plainfield Road at Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and no valid registration. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Jimmy Mojica, 19, of Willowbrook, was arrested shortly before 8 a.m. March 13 in the 8300 block of Bailey Road on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
