Lauren DiSimone of Family Shelter Services explains “We are deeply grateful to the Darien Rotary Club for their commitment to Family Shelter Services and our clients will greatly appreciate the kits. We can’t thank Darien Rotary enough!” Rotary District #6450 has challenged each club in the district to be involved in the initiative by District Governor Ron Broida. “This is an important district wide initiative for Rotary and one that we are truly committed to“ stated Governor Broida. The District along with the Rotary Club of Chicago was very fortunate to be included in a donation of 50,000 amenity kits, blankets, and slippers by a well-known airlines. The kits will be the initial part of the ongoing partnership by the individual clubs with the organizations.

The District #6450 initiative aligning local Rotary Clubs with organizations helping those affected by domestic violence follows the Rotary International theme for the Rotary year 2016-17 which is “Rotary Serving Humanity”.
