Rundown To 'Beautifully' Built In Darien: City
Darien touts new development in an annexed area of the city.

DARIEN, IL – Only a few years ago, an area along Darien's Manning Road contained just one dilapidated home, the city says.
That's no longer the case.
In 2016, Burr Ridge's McNaughton Development began construction of 26 homes on Cottage Lane, known as the Rolling Knolls subdivision.

In its weekly newsletter Wednesday, the city described the single-family homes as "beautifully" built.
Before, the area was not part of the city. According to the newsletter, the city required annexation before it could be developed within the city.

The development, the city said, contributed to Darien by maintaining strong property values in the area and bringing more money to local taxing bodies.
The property was developed with modern stormwater and wetland regulations, ensuring the development did not cause problems elsewhere, the city said.
"We welcome Rolling Knolls residents to Darien and hope they are enjoying being part of the community," the newsletter said.
