SEASPAR Welcomes Village of Willowbrook as Newest Member

The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) and the Village of Willowbrook are teaming up to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities through recreation with a new partnership in 2024.

In September 2024, the Village of Willowbrook will officially join twelve other member communities of SEASPAR, including the Downers Grove Park District, Lisle Park District, and Darien Park District, in receiving top-quality recreational programs and services for their residents with disabilities.

SEASPAR’s programs and services include enriching weekly programs, exciting day-long excursions, Special Olympics training, two multi-sensory rooms, an adult day program, cooperative programming, inclusion services, and more.

Although the new agreement does not begin until September 2024, Willowbrook residents will be able to register for SEASPAR programs beginning with the winter/spring 2024 program season. Registration begins in December 2023.

To introduce SEASPAR to their new community, the Village of Willowbrook and SEASPAR are hosting a meet-and-greet for Willowbrook residents on Monday, October 16, from 5:00-7:00pm. SEASPAR staff will share information about their services and answer any questions.

The meeting will be located at the Community Resource Center, 825 Midway Drive, Willowbrook. Food and beverages will be served. RSVP by Sunday, October 15 online at SEASPAR.org, or by calling SEASPAR at 630.960.7600.
