Self-Defense Classes For Women Planned In Darien

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Arts Council will hold a women's self-defense course on Monday, Sept. 24 and on Monday, Oct. 1. The first course which will be for adult women will be held on Sept. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Taekwondo USA, 7516 Cass Ave., in Darien. The course for teen girls will be held Monday, Oct. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Taekwondo USA.

According to the city newsletter, both courses will be taught by Patti Barnum, who is an 8th degree black belt and a certified SHARP instructor and bullying prevention instructor.

The fee for the class is $39 and the fundraiser will benefit the Darien Arts Council. You can call 630-271-1200 to reserve your spot.
