Several Darien Burglary Cases from 2014 to Close

Three people from Chicago may be using the western suburbs as a base of operations for car thefts.

Several burglary cases in Darien from late last year will close, after Darien police worked with other agencies to identify suspects in a national burglary ring.

Police Chief Ernest Brown wrote in an email to residents that some jewelry and money have been recovered in the on-going investigation, and they expect to close four or five of the burglary cases.

New information has also shed light on a rash of car-related crimes in Darien. Through more investigative collaboration, Darien police have found three people from Chicago who may be using the western suburbs as a base of operations for car thefts, Brown wrote. Some of the local car-related criminal cases may close soon, based on these suspects.
