Social Media 'Misinformation' About Hinsdale D86 Noted
Board members said there's a better way to communicate with them than through social media.

DARIEN, IL – A couple of Hinsdale High School District 86 board members this week said social media was not a good way to communicate with them.
"There's a fair amount of misinformation out there," member Liz Mitha said at a board meeting. "Most board members are not monitoring social media for community concerns. Sharing questions or comments on social media is not an effective way to solve problems."
She said it's best to email board members. The board's email address is boe@hinsdale86.org; each member's address is also listed on the board's website.

Mitha said residents should work up the chain of command, starting with contacting a student's teacher.
Board member Jeff Waters agreed with Mitha. He said email was a good way to reach board members "for those who are actually interested in communication versus social media degradation."
