Speedway Employee Spit On, Car Strikes Street Sign: Darien Cops

DUI
At 12:55 a.m. on July 17 an officer on patrol in the 8800 southbound lanes of Lemont Road
observed a vehicle traveling in between the two northbound lanes of Lemont Road. John Danajka, 61, Downers Grove was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding.

In-State Warrants
At 12:06 a.m. on July 19 an officer on patrol at Lemont Road at 83rd Street observed a vehicle with the registration light out on southbound Lemont Road. Kwon Russell, 21, of Willowbrook was arrested for driving while license suspended and driving without registration light. Passenger Sokito Taylor, 21, of the 3000 block of Hillside Court was arrested on multiple warrant(s) for: criminal damage to property, violation of order of protection, criminal trespass, theft and two for resisting arrest.

Battery
At 8:30 a.m. on July 19 an officer was dispatched to Speedway, 10150 Lemont Road for a battery.
A station employee advised two male white offender(s) entered the station. They were asked for identification before purchasing alcohol with one offender spitting on the employee.
Hit and Run
At 9:40 a.m. on July 23 an officer was dispatched to a just occurred hit and run accident at Tall Pine
Drive at Bavarian Lane. Resident observed a vehicle driven by an unknown offender
strike a street sign and leave. The approximate cost to repair is $5,000.
