Spilled Drinks Spark Darien Restaurant Dispute: Cops

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving a restaurant disturbance, a bar tab dispute, a DUI, and a broken window likely caused by golfers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Restaurant disturbance

• Police were called about 10 p.m. Monday to Culver's restaurant, 541 Plainfield Ave. They were responding to a disturbance between a customer and employees because of spilled drinks in the drive-thru. The customer entered the building using vulgar language toward the employees. A fight occurred. The customer, a 22-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1400 block of Sequoia Lane, and an employee, a Chicago man, were both charged with disorderly conduct involving battery. They were given court dates and then released. The customer was given a no-trespass notice.

Bar tab dispute

• Police were called about 7:30 p.m. Friday to Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave., for a dispute involving a customer who was unable to pay his tab. The customer, a 45-year-old Davis Junction man, was wanted on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

• A 22-year-old Plainfield man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 8700 block of Lemont Road on charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to an unattended vehicle. He was given a court date and then released.

Golfers responsible?

• A woman heard a window break in the area where she was sitting about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 8500 block of Thistlewood Lane, which is next to Carriage Greens Country Club. She saw nearby golfers.

Damage

• The area near the front door of a house was reported damaged about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Woodmere Drive.
