Stolen Car, Swerving Driver: Darien Police
Woman speeds away from police, but is caught on the expressway, report says.
DARIEN, IL — In recent days, Darien police arrested people on charges of DUI, auto theft and drugs. Here is information from the reports:
- Keandra Shaw, 23, of Rockford, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. July 12 on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. An officer was informed that a stolen car from Winnebago County was seen near 55th Street and Interstate 294. Westmont police had spotted the stolen car, but Shaw sped away. The car was stopped by Darien police on southbound Interstate 55. Shaw was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Azamat Nagaev, 24, of Chicago, was arrested about 8 p.m. July 10 on Lemont Road on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver's license, transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver, and unlawful possession of marijuana. A witness told police that Nagaev was swerving and almost struck another car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Autumn Sturdivant, 24, of Bolingbrook, was arrested about 11 a.m. July 10 in the 8700 block of Lemont Road on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court. She was stopped for speeding. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Anthony Geraci, 33, of Lockport, was cited about 1 p.m. July 11 on charges of driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. According to a police report, officers learned about a residential burglary in progress. A man was seen entering a residence and later leaving in a tan car. The man, identified as Geraci, said he had seen an open window at a rental house he was checking out and was attempting to close it. The owner decided against filing a complaint. Geraci was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Amanda Harper, 21, of Seneca, was arrested about 10 a.m. July 13 at the Darien Police Department on a Darien warrant on a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
