Stolen Truck, Wallet Theft: Darien Cops
A truck tractor valued at $60,000 was stolen in town, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:
Stolen truck-tractor
- The tractor portion of a semi-truck was stolen between 9 p.m. May 2 and 12:30 p.m. May 3 from the west side of Cass Avenue at South Frontage Road. The loss is estimated at $60,000.
Wallet theft

- Suspects stole a wallet from a purse shortly after midnight Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St. The loss was estimated at $200.
Theft of tools
- A truck was burglarized about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Home Depot, 2101 75th St. Someone stole numerous tools from the bed of the truck in the parking lot. The loss was estimated at $1,000.
Damage to car

- A car was damaged about 1 p.m. May 3 in the parking lot at Jewel in the 7300 block of Cass Avenue. Suspects dented the car a number of times. The damage was estimated at $8,500.
Warrant
- Brittany Elia, 25, of Hillside, was cited about 11 a.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear. Police were called to Walmart because of a suspected retail theft. Officers saw Elia dumping items from her purse in the parking lot, according to a police report. Walmart declined to press charges. She was taken to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
Driving violations
- Octavio Marin, 47, of Chicago, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Thursday at 79th Street and Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
