Stumbling Darien Woman Charged With DUI: Cops

In another case, a Downers Grove woman was found slumped behind the wheel.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

DUI

  • A 43-year-old Darien woman who lives in the 7200 block of Leonard Drive was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brookhaven Market, 7516 Cass Ave., on charges of DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol. She was stumbling around the front door of the grocery store. Police said she then got into her car and started to drive away. An officer stopped her. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 57-year-old Downers Grove woman who lives in the 200 block of Florence Avenue was arrested about 7 p.m. Friday at the Hinsbrook Centre in the 700 block of Plainfield Road on a DUI charge. She was found slumped over the wheel in a running car. Her car was parked in the middle of two parking spaces halfway onto the grass.

Theft by deception

  • A 23-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1500 block of Sequoia Lane was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Sunday on a Darien warrant charging theft by deception and a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court. The man turned himself in at the Darien police station. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Nicholas Lusson, 35, of Waukegan, was arrested about 3 p.m. Monday on a Darien warrant charging felony retail theft in Darien. Darien's case against him is from 2019, according to court records. Lusson turned himself in at the Darien police station. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Damage

  • A small hole was found in two windows about 1 p.m. Sunday at Old Lace School, 7422 Cass Ave. It was possibly by a BB gun. The damage occurred at some point in the last couple of weeks. The damage was estimated at $400.
