Submarine Sailors work with Rickover Academy Cadets

Members of the Tinley Park VFW Post 2791, in conjunction with a group of submariners work with the Rickover Academy in the Voice of Democracy a program to instill in
today's youth the importance of preserving the democracy we enjoy. Shown here

The submarine group, the Navy's elite fighting group meet at 13:00, the first Saturday of the month, at the VFW on Oak Park Ave. The group is involved in community service with a
strong leaning toward veteran activities. They include visiting veterans at
local Veteran's Hospitals and volunteering at The Abraham Lincoln Veteran's
Cemetery. They assist in tours of the German submarine, U-505 at the Museum of
Science and Industry. The group has a active social program. Anyone who is
qualified in submarines or just has an avid interest in submarines is invited to
join us There is a free lunch for first time submariner guests. Those interested
