Suspicious Notes Near Darien Campaign Signs: Cops

In another case, a man damaging signs in another town was wanted in Darien, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Campaign signs

  • A resident in the 6900 block of High Road told police Saturday about suspicious notes placed by political signs in the resident's yard and a neighbor's.
  • A 71-year-old Brookfield man was arrested by Countryside police shortly after midnight Sunday on a charge of vandalizing political signs. Darien police had a warrant for the man charging him with disorderly conduct. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Retail theft

  • A 21-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday at Ross Dress for Less, 7511 Lemont Road, on a retail theft charge. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrant

  • A 24-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1100 block of Plainfield Road turned himself in about 4 p.m. Sunday on a Naperville theft warrant. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
