Suspicious Package Found at McDonald's Oak Brook Headquarters
DuPage County Bomb Squad determines package to be safe after it showed up Friday morning.

A suspicious package showed up at McDonald’s corporate headquarters in Oak Brook Friday morning, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of employees.
Oak Brook’s police and fire departments, and the DuPage County Bomb Squad answered the call of a suspicious package found at 2111 McDonald’s Drive around 10:42 a.m. McDonald’s security by then had evacuated 1,300 employees from the building as a safety precaution, Westmont police said.

The DuPage County Bomb Squad determined the package to be safe at 1 p.m., which turned out to be a digital media player.
“Everyone at the incident acted according to proper procedures to ensure public safety,” Oak Brook Police Chief James Kruger said in a news advisory. “Upon arrival, everyone’s training kicked in and the situation ended safely.”
