Thief Swipes Cigarette Cartons From Gas Station: Darien Cops

DARIEN, IL — Police are looking for a man who stole two cartons of cigarettes from a Circle K gas station in Darien. The incident took place just after 6 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Circle K at 8975 Lemont Rd.

According to a police summary, the suspect asked a store employee for two cartons of cigarettes. The offender then "distracted the clerk" and left the gas station with the cigarettes.

He was last seen fleeing south on Lemont Rd. in a white "station wagon type vehicle." No further description was available.

The total loss was estimated to be $139.98.
