Tire Slashed, Mailbox Smashed In Darien: Cops
Darien police say no suspects are currently in custody for either incident.

DARIEN, IL — Darien police responded to two separate reports of criminal damage to property within days of each other. The first incident involved a slashed tire on Dec. 21 and the second incident involved a smashed mailbox on Christmas Eve.
A resident in the 2200 block of Hamilton Lane told police that someone had slashed their vehicle tire between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Dec. 21. The resident first noticed their tire was completely flat and then observed a 3-inch "gash" in the sidewall of the tire. No suspects have been named. The total estimated loss was $300.
On Christmas Eve, a suspect or suspects knocked down a metal mailbox in the 7500 block of Grant St. The resident told police the mailbox was smashed sometime between 4:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The total loss was estimated at $60.
