Walmart Battery, Theft Witnessed: Darien Cops

A Westmont woman was arrested after police responded to a battery at Walmart, report says.

DARIEN, IL — In recent days, Darien police handled cases involving a battery at Walmart, a theft witnessed by the victims and driving violations. Here is information from the Darien police reports:

Battery

  • Jasmine Owens, 26, of Westmont, was arrested shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of battery. Police responded to a "battery in progress" in the parking lot.

  • A suspect took items from a car while a passenger was still sitting inside and a person was exiting to pay for gas about 4 a.m. Sunday at Shell gas station, 8226 Cass Ave. The items were valued at $160.

Driving violations

  • Jessica Oglesby, 25, of Rockford, was cited about 1 a.m. Dec. 15 in the 6900 block of Cass Avenue on charges of unlawful use of marijuana by a driver and speeding. She was clocked speeding 58 mph in a 40 mph zone. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Alexandra Rivera, 24, of Darien, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Friday on 75th Street near Fairview Drive on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was speeding 58 mph in a 35 mph construction zone. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Jeremy Montanez, 26, of Stickney, was cited shortly before midnight Saturday in the 6700 block of Clarendon Hills Road on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and improper lane use. An officer saw Montanez cross a boundary line several times.
