Woman Pulls Stun Gun In Darien Road Rage Incident: Cops

In another case, a Darien man was charged with domestic battery and taken to jail, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving road rage, domestic battery, damage, car burglaries, a stolen car and a DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:

Road rage

  • Police responded to a road rage incident about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near 75th Street and Cass Avenue. Another driver witnessed a 38-year-old Maywood woman take out a stun gun and activate it before driving away. Burr Ridge and Willowbrook police stopped her at Madison Street and Plainfield Road. She was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and disorderly conduct. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Domestic battery

  • A 53-year-old Darien man who lives in the 900 block of 71st Street was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday at his house on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Damage

  • A passenger side window of a car was shattered Aug. 23 at Culver's restaurant, 541 Plainfield Road. The damage occurred between noon and 1:15 p.m. The loss was estimated at $200.

Car burglaries

  • Suspects were seen entering several cars overnight Aug. 22 in the 1100 block of Chalet Drive. They stole a key fob and a Sephora gift card. The loss was estimated at $475.
  • A car in the 7800 block of Stratford Place was burglarized about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. A man was seen pulling door handles on cars in the neighborhood. A resident noticed a small monitor was removed from the center console, but it was left in the driver's seat.

Stolen car

  • A 1996 BMW was stolen in the 7500 block of Country Lane. The car was last seen about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The car was in the parking lot where the owner lived. The owner reported the theft Monday.

DUI

  • A 23-year-old Darien man who lives in the 6900 block of Eleanor Place was arrested about 10 p.m. Monday on charges of DUI and disobeying a traffic light. Police said the man was speeding through the Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 701 Plainfield Road. The man then turned onto 75th Street, then Plainfield Road. An officer stopped him.
