Youth Faces Felonies In Darien Gym Thefts: Police

DARIEN, IL – A youth who asked to use a Darien gym's restroom entered the locker room instead, stealing credit cards, police said.

About 6 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to Planet Fitness, 7415 Cass Ave., about customers reporting thefts.

The youth in question was found in the nearby parking lot at Brookhaven Plaza, police said.

The juvenile was charged with three felony counts of unlawful possession of credit or debit cards, two counts of theft, three counts of attempted use of credit or debit cards with intent to defraud, and resisting and obstructing a police officer.

The youth was taken to Kane County's youth jail.

Planet Fitness opened earlier this year.
