Tuesday, Jan. 26, 4 p.m.

Grades 1-3

Learn to create animated videos using MIT's free online Scratch coding software.

Chess @ IPPL

Saturday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m.

Teens

Hang out with friends on Zoom and play casual games of chess on Lichess.org. Then, join in a five-minute-a-side chess tournament; the winner will receive a $10 GameStop gift card, courtesy of IPPL.

People in Your Neighborhood Storytime

Tuesdays, Feb. 2-16, 9:30 a.m.

Families with children ages 7 and under.

Join in this series of storytimes that focuses on introducing the helpers in the community and learning about what they do every day.

These storytimes are also available on the library’s YouTube channel. This program is part of the Ignite Change series.

Virtual Girls Who Code

Tuesdays, Feb. 2-16, 5 p.m.

Grades 6-12

Girls Who Code is a national organization on a mission to change the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. This virtual club is open to students, regardless of skill level/experience.

Celebrate Abraham Lincoln's birthday with Illinois author of The Superlative A. Lincoln: Poems about Our 16th President, Eileen R. Meyer.

Ms. Meyer shares fun readings, history, and answers questions from attendees, via Zoom. After registering, pick up a President's Day activity bag with games and projects on the U.S. Presidents, including Abraham Lincoln.
