• DMH to offer free mammograms in October (herald-review.com) — Decatur Memorial Hospital is offering free October mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women 40 and older, giving local residents vital access to breast cancer screening. The piece also looks back at historic photos from the hospital's past, showing how care and technology have evolved in Decatur over the decades.
• Izzy Jones nets hat trick in draw with Wheaton (jg-tc.com) — In Decatur, Millikin University's women's soccer team battled Wheaton College to a 3–3 draw, highlighted by Izzy Jones scoring all three Big Blue goals to lead the conference in scoring. Despite holding a 3–1 advantage late, Millikin conceded twice in the final minutes, and now turns attention to a road conference match at Carroll University on Saturday.
• Local hospitals to conduct community health survey (wandtv.com) — Decatur Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. Mary's are teaming with Memorial Health and Logan County partners on a community health survey open through Oct. 31, and they want Decatur residents' input.
