9 Deerfield Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
The Deerfield High School seniors are among more than 16,000 semifinalists nationwide.
DEERFIELD, IL — Nine Deerfield High School students have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students are:
- Olivia N. Dooley
- Jasper A. Fine
- Madeleine S. Forman
- Isabel A. Ifkovits
- Vivienne D. Peiser
- Nishant K. Reed
- Caroline Q. Shi
- Dustin L. Simon
- Nolan A. Zinman
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation selected more than 16,000 semifinalists nationwide. They represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and will compete for about 6,700 scholarships worth approximately $24 million.

Students qualified through the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT. To advance, semifinalists must complete an application, maintain an outstanding academic record, receive a school recommendation, submit an essay and earn SAT or ACT scores confirming their qualifying-test performance.
More than 15,000 semifinalists are expected to become finalists.
