RIVERWOODS, IL — An aerial mosquito control treatment operation is planned for Thursday morning in and near Riverwoods.
According to the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District, and in coordination with contractor Clarke Mosquito, a helicopter will be spraying the larval mosquito control treatment starting at 7 a.m., weather permitting.
The agency, based in Northfield, tells Patch locations along the railroad tracks running parallel to Route 41, as well as a small portion of Riverwoods along the Des Plaines River just west of Thornmeadow Road, will be targeted. This daytime treatment targets mosquitoes in their immature stages before they emerge as adults, NSMAD added.
