Deerfield Area Students Earn Honors At Miami, Alabama, Carthage

OXFORD, OH — Miami University students who are ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within each division for the spring 2026 semester have been named to the Dean’s List, recognizing academic excellence.

The following local students were named to the Dean’s List:

Miami University also conferred more than 4,500 degrees on May 16 at Yager Stadium as part of its 2026 Spring Commencement ceremony.

Carthage College

KENOSHA, WI — Carthage College recognized Daniel Jaworski, of Deerfield, for being named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List.

Dean’s List honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 12 letter-graded credits in a given semester.

Roger Williams University

BRISTOL, RI — Ava Hogenkamp, of Riverwoods, was named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List at Roger Williams University.

Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List for that semester.

Muhlenberg College

ALLENTOWN, PA — Jack Weiss, of Deerfield, was named to the spring 2026 Dean’s List at Muhlenberg College while studying accounting and finance.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, Muhlenberg College students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better while taking three or more course units during a semester.

Pan-Mass Challenge

NEEDHAM, MA — Luke Corsiglia, of Deerfield, will participate in the 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual bike-a-thon across Massachusetts that raises money for cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 and is expected to include more than 6,000 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers.

Organizers said the Pan-Mass Challenge, which raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraiser in the world, has set a fundraising goal of $79 million this year.

Belmont University

NASHVILLE, TN — Sally Lynn, of Deerfield, earned a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering Technology from Belmont University.

Belmont held its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students May 8 and May 9 in the Curb Event Center. Across four ceremonies, the university recognized more than 1,500 candidates among bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral candidates.

University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama awarded about 7,000 degrees during its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies at Coleman Coliseum in May.
