RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. James Carl Gumina, 67, of Chicago, was arrested July 23 following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Portwine roads.
Gumina was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He was processed and released pending an Aug. 13 court appearance in Waukegan.
Erzhan Umkhavatov, 22, of Seattle, was arrested July 26 following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Portwine roads.
Umkhavatov was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was processed and released pending an Aug. 27 court appearance in Waukegan.
Michael S. Beling, 59, of Highland Park, was arrested July 29 following a traffic stop near Lake Cook Road and CCH Drive.
Beling was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He was processed and released pending an Aug. 27 court appearance in Waukegan.
Adam B. Pomerance, 55, of Highwood, was arrested July 31 by Lake County sheriff's police on a Riverwoods police warrant charging him with violating an order of protection, a Class A misdemeanor.
The warrant was obtained after a July 28 report alleging Pomerance violated an active no-contact order obtained by a Riverwoods resident, police said.
