Deerfield Students Head Back To School: Key 2026-27 Dates

DEERFIELD, IL — The 2026-27 school year is getting underway in Deerfield, with high school students returning first and younger students following next week.

Township High School District 113 students return Wednesday, Aug. 12, while Deerfield Public Schools District 109 students in kindergarten through eighth grade begin Monday, Aug. 17, with a half day. District 109's Early Learners begin Aug. 18.

Deerfield Public Schools District 109

• First Day, K-8: Aug. 17, 2026, half day
• First Day, Early Learners: Aug. 18, 2026
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25 through Nov. 27, 2026
• Winter Break: Begins Dec. 18, 2026; students return Jan. 5, 2027
• Spring Break: Begins March 22, 2027; students return March 30
• Last Day: June 4, 2027, without the use of emergency days

District 109's board-approved calendar lists Aug. 17 as the opening day and June 4 as the scheduled final day if emergency days are not needed.

Township High School District 113

• First Day: Aug. 12, 2026
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25 through Nov. 27, 2026
• Winter Break: Begins Dec. 18, 2026; students return Jan. 5, 2027

District 113's calendar also lists May 17 as the last day for seniors, with final exams scheduled May 25-27.
