Brushwood Center's Mother Earth Market Returns To Riverwoods

RIVERWOODS, IL — Attendees of the annual Mother Earth Market will have a chance to celebrate spring and Mother's Day. Held at Brushwood Center, the market features and celebrates local artists, makers, vendors and organizations who are inspired by Mother Earth and working toward a more sustainable future.

Free and open to the public, the market will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

"We’re so excited for the return of our spring market," Julia Kemerer, director of arts and administration at Brushwood Center, said. "It's such a great weekend to come out to the woods and see tons of locally made art, do a bit of shopping, and enjoy fun activities for the family."

Organizers say the market will feature more than 35 local artists and vendors, showcasing a wide variety of arts and crafts, all inspired by nature.

Each day of the market will also include family-friendly activities. Activities include: Family-Friendly, Bilingual Bird Walks with Brushwood Center Staff, Haiku Readings by Poet-in-Residence Kathryn Haydon, a free Spring Flower Crafting Station, games and activities in the back garden, and live music from Veterans from the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center.
