Nominations Sought for Maureen Wener Public Service Award
The West Deerfield Township Democrats are inviting citizens and organizations to place nominations for the third annual Maureen Wener Public Service Award, in honor of Maureen Wener, a role model of public service in Deerfield, who was killed in a bicycle accident in 2023. We wish to honor citizens who show similar dedication to public service. Nominations can come from any resident, organization, or board within the Township. Individuals may nominate someone else or themselves, and must be emailed to info@WestDeerfieldDems,com no
later than August 29th.
Award criteria: The award is non-partisan; nominees need to live in or work in West Deerfield Township and should exemplify Maureen’s commitment to make our community a better place to live.
The nomination should include-the date you are nominating a candidate
-the nominee’s name and contact information (address / phone / email)
and -the nominator’s name, relationship to nominee and contact information (address / phone / email);-a description of Nominee’s grass roots activism, commitment to democratic principles/public service, and/or humanitarian principles.
A committee appointed by the Executive Board of the West Deerfield Township Democratic Organization will select the winner.
The recipient of the award will be notified by September 22 and the award presentation will take place on October 18th from 2-4 in the Deerfield Public Library.
