Chicago Summer Music Camp for Beginners (July 14–18, Hinsdale)

Camp located in Hinsdale - Ages 5-12 - Aftercare Available Daily

Parents and young musicians across the Chicago area are invited to kick off summer on a high note with the Beginner Music Camp, happening July 14–18, 2025. Hosted by the American Music Institute, this weeklong day camp is open to ages 5-12 - no audition or prior experience required!

This is the perfect camp for students that want to explore instruments and music in a non-pressure environment. All classes are taught by our acclaimed American Music Institute faculty. Private lessons are optional but strongly encouraged.

Daily Curriculum and Classes

  • Keyboard awareness
  • Rhythmic awareness & reading
  • Making & creating several instruments throughout the week
  • Experience string, wind, brass & percussion instruments
