Coat Donations for Lake County Veterans Accepted Through September
"Operation Stand Down" will include a collection box at the Deerfield-Highland Park football game later this month.
DEERFIELD, IL - A coat drive is being held this month to benefit veterans in Lake County and their families.
Sgt. Oliver Cachola of the Deerfield Police Department is organizing "Operation Stand Down," which includes collection boxes at both the lobbies of the Deerfield Police Department and Deerfield Public Library.
A collection box will also be available before and during the Friday, Sept. 30 football game between Deerfield and Highland Park high schools. The game will also be a first responder/military appreciation night.

Cachola, a veteran himself having served eight years in the United states Army National Guard, says more than 200 veterans and families have benefitted from the drive in the last few years alone.
