'Common Crime' Rises in Deerfield
Deputy Chief shows increase in bike thefts, retail thefts and burglaries.

The tally of “common crimes” during the first half of 2015 was a bit higher in Deerfield than it was last year.
The list tallied 70 this year, while last year’s total was 50, Deerfield Police Deputy Chief Tom Keane told the Village Board during an annual report this week. The increase is mostly due to bike thefts, retail thefts and burglaries, the Deerfield Review reported.
“We’ve had a run of bikes being stolen out of the (train) depot,”said Keane. “Several towns along the train route have been suffering that, plus our retail thefts are up a little bit.”
