Congressional, State Candidates Debate In Deerfield

Top photo: LWV debate Oct. 7, 2018 at Deerfield High SchoolDEERFIELD, IL — Candidates running for state and federal office met Sunday at Deerfield High School just under a month before the Nov. 6 election. The debates were sponsored by local League of Women Voters for the Deerfield area, Glenview-Glencoe, Highland Park-Highwood and the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff, along with the Union League Club of Chicago.

The candidates for state office met first. In the 29th State Senate District, incumbent Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield) faced Barrett Davie (R-Lake Forest), as well as 58th District in the Illinois House, where Bob Morgan (D-Deerfield) and Frederic "Rick" Lesser (R-Lake Bluff) are running for the seat being vacated by Scott Drury (D-Highwood).
