Continuing A Financial Crime Enterprise Arrest Made: Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

• Sooni R. Geede, 40, of the 2300 block of Sherman Avenue, North Chicago, had a warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested June 6 at 22nd Street and Sherman Avenue, North Chicago. Bond was set at $50,000 and a court date of July 11 was assigned.
• Juan A. Bermudez-Turcios, 36, of the 1500 block of Berwick Boulevard, Waukegan, had a warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested June 11 at Sheridan and Beach roads, Beach Park. Bond was set at $90,000 and a court date of June 16 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Luis A. Tellez, 31, of the 1900 block of Seymour Avenue, North Chicago, had a warrant for aggravated driving under the influence, and was arrested June 6 in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of July 5 was assigned.
• Gabriel J. Shaver, 30, of Antioch, Tennessee, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving while license revoked, no insurance, and was arrested June 9 at Sheridan and Beach roads, Beach Park. Bond was set at $250,000 and a court date of July 7 was assigned.
• Desmond D. Balentine, 44, of the 2100 block of Gideon Street, Zion, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving while license revoked, no insurance, improper transportations of cannabis, and was arrested June 9 at 9th Street and Green Bay Road, Zion. Bond was set at $350,000 and a court date of June 15 was assigned.
• Gerardo Montero, 23, of the 2400 block of Western Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, and was arrested June 11 at Lewis and Eagle Ridge avenues, Waukegan. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 17 was assigned.
• Fernando Vazquez, 32, of the 800 block of Helmolz Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, no driver's license, no insurance, had a warrant out of Cook County for domestic battery, and was arrested June 12 at Yorkhouse and DeWoody roads, Beach Park. Bond was set at $25,000 and a future court date was to be determined at the time of the report.
• Ulises Dominguez, 31, of the 800 block of Greenview Street, Gurnee, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, and was arrested June 12 at Sheridan Road and Traditions Drive, Waukegan. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 17 was assigned.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

• Artan Mesliu, 37, of the 1300 block of N. Geneva Drive, Palatine, is accused of driving while license suspended, and was arrested June 6 in the 24500 block of W. Milton Road, unincorporated Wauconda. Bond was set at $1,500.
• Robert E. Allen, 59, of the 600 block of North Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving while license revoked, driving with suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested June 9 at 24th Street and Sheridan Road, Zion. Bond was set at $2,000.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

• Keith R. Gunning, 51, of the 18000 block of W. Banbury Drive, unincorporated Gurnee, had a warrant for domestic battery, and was arrested June 7 at County Street and Washington Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $100,000 and a court date of July 7 was assigned.
• Derrick Stanley, 33, of the 1600 block of Grand Highland Drive, Plainfield, had a warrant for domestic battery, resisting arrest, and was arrested June 10 in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $100,000 and a court date of June 13 was assigned.
• David S. Kaminski, 40, of the 100 block of Howard Court, Fox Lake, had a warrant for domestic battery, and was arrested June 10 in the 800 block of S. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville. Bond was set at $75,000 and a court date of June 15 was assigned.
• Joesph D. Paquet, 38, of the 500 block of Basil Road, unincorporated Lake Bluff, is accused of domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery, and was arrested June 11 in the 500 block of Basil Road, unincorporated Lake Bluff. Bond was set at $150,000 and was assigned a court date of July 6.

DEFRAUDING A DRUG TEST

Jerrold Hayes, 53, of the 900 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of defrauding a drug test, and was arrested June 7 at County and Washington streets, Waukegan. Bond was set at $150,000 and a court date of June 15 was assigned.

NO DRIVER'S LICENSE

• Kelli A. Leonard, 53, of the 2000 block of 12th Street, Winthrop Harbor, is accused of no driver's license, driving with a suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested June 7 at Sheridan Road and Talmadge Avenue, Beach Park. Bond was set at $2,000.
• Jeffrey J. Dunn, 30, of Racine, Wisconsin, is accused of no driver's license, no registration, no insurance, and was arrested June 9 at Lewis Avenue and Everett Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $2,000.

FORGERY

Donnie W. Epling, 55, of the 31200 block of Route 45, unincorporated Libertyville, had a warrant for forgery, and is accused of the new charges of obstructing justice, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested June 8 at Route 45 and Casey Road, unincorporated Libertyville. Bond was set at $25,000 and a court date of June 22 was assigned.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO RESIDENCE

Jeremy Jenkins, 31, of the 100 block of Geneva Terrace, Round Lake Beach, had a warrant for criminal trespass to residence, disorderly conduct, and was arrested June 8 in the 1300 block of N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan. Bond was set at $60,000 and a court date of June 22 was assigned.

CONTINUING A FINANCIAL CRIME ENTERPRISE

Margaret R. Banas, 24, of the 500 block of Shadow Drive, Harvard, had a warrant for continuing a financial crime enterprise, theft, money laundering, forgery, and was arrested June 9 in the 23300 block of W. Apollo Court, unincorporated Lake Villa. Bond was set at $100,000 and a future court date was to be determined at the time of the report.
