Deerfield Calls For Veteran Banner Sponsors For Illinois America250 Celebration

The veteran banner will be displayed in the downtown area from late May through early July as part of Illinois America250.

DEERFIELD, IL — The Village of Deerfield is inviting families, residents, and local organizations to participate in a program honoring veterans. This initiative is part of Illinois America250, which celebrates the 250th birthday of the United States. Deerfield plans to display veteran banners throughout its downtown area as a way to recognize service and sacrifice.

According to the Village, each banner will feature the veteran's military photo, branch of service, and years of service. These banners will be displayed in Downtown Deerfield from approximately late May through early July. This program aims to highlight the stories that have shaped the community and the country.

To participate, sponsors need to upload a clear headshot of their veteran. A cost-share payment of $25 per banner is also required. This payment can be made at Village Hall or mailed to 850 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. All applications must be submitted by May 1.

Veterans honored through this program should have a community tie to the Village of Deerfield. Residents can sign up online to participate.
