Deerfield High School Placed on Lockdown After Student's Threat

Police say lockdown was lifted after student was found and threat proved false.

DEERFIELD, IL - Deerfield High School was placed on lockdown for a brief period Wednesday morning after police responded to what they have called a "low-level" threat made by a student.

The lockdown was put in place at 9 a.m. to allow police the resources to find the student.

"Officers determined the threat to be false and the lockdown was lifted," police said on their Facebook page around 10 a.m.

The student has been taken into custody for further investigation.
