Deerfield Installs Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Five electric vehicle charging stations were installed at the public works building, according to the Village.
DEERFIELD, IL — With a goal of replacing up to 90 percent of the Village fleet with electric vehicles by the year 2050, Deerfield announced it has installed five electric vehicle charging stations at the public works building, 465 Elm St.
The Village currently owns and maintains 55 vehicles, of which 15 are considered light-use. Officials said the light-use vehicles are used for inspections, construction management and by department heads.
Replacing all 15 light-use vehicles by the year 2030 represents nearly 30 percent of the fleet going carbon neutral, according to the Village. The charging stations are for Village use only.
