Deerfield Man Claims To Be Cop To Deputy During Domestic Dispute: Sheriff

After purportedly purporting to have a Purple Heart, he was charged with felony false personation of a peace officer.

DEERFIELD, IL — A Lake County Sheriff's deputy responding to a domestic dispute encountered a Deerfield man claiming to be a cop Wednesday, police said. It turns out he was not. In addition to lying about being law enforcement, police said the man also purported to have a Purple Heart. Upon further investigation, that claim was also revealed to be false, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's office.

Ryan W. Chrzanowsky, 35, of the 100 block of Inverrary Lane in Deerfield, was arrested and charged with felony false personation of a peace officer. He appeared in bond court Thursday and was released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond ahead of his next court date on Oct. 11.

Chrzanowsky, who did not respond to a request for comment, is an U.S. Air Force veteran and former security guard who graduated Waukegan High School in 2000, according to social media accounts in his name.
