TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC NOTICE FOR 2024 TAX YEAR

Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Deerfield Park District

• I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax increase for Deerfield Park District for the 2024 tax year will be held on December 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield, Illinois 60015. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Annemarie Flaherty, Secretary, 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield, Illinois 60015, (847) 945- 0650.
• II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended, or abated, for the 2023 tax year were $8,790,616. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for the 2024 tax year are $9,212,786. This represents a 4.80% increase over the previous year.
• III. The property taxes extended, or abated, for debt service and public building commission leases for the 2023 tax year were $404,434. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for the 2024 tax year are $391,249. This represents a 3.26% decrease from the previous year.
• IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for the 2023 tax year were $9,195,050. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for the 2024 tax year are $9,604,035 This represents a 4.45% increase from the previous year.
