Deerfield Park District: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For Jewett Park 2.0 Playground

Deerfield, IL – The Deerfield Park District is thrilled to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed Jewett Park Playground as part of the larger Jewett Park 2.0 renovation project. Join us in celebrating this exciting new addition on Saturday, November 9, at 2:00 pm at Jewett Park Playground, 836 Jewett Park Drive.

Funded by a $600,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ (IDNR) Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program, the Jewett Park 2.0 project enhances the park with vibrant amenities and accessibility improvements. The updated northern half of Jewett Park includes a brand-new playground featuring thrilling new elements:
- Rock Crawl
- Six Slides with heights up to 16 feet
- Rope Tunnel
- Spinners
- Swings
Additional park features include a concert pavilion, a family game area with a gaga pit, bocce court, baggo, and ping pong, as well as a natural area filled with native trees and pollinator plants. Visitors can also enjoy a new picnic shelter, council ring, interpretive signage, and improved accessibility throughout the park.
