Deadline approaches for applications to fill need for radio telecommunicator.

DEERFIELD, IL - The Deerfield Police Department seeks to hit a part-time telecommunicator to work as a radio dispatcher for the department.

Applicants must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma, valid driver's license and be willing to work irregular shifts including weekends or holidays.

Major duties include "receiving and sending radio, telephone and mobile data terminal messages," according to the job listing on the village website.

The jobholder must "accept the responsibility to support and promote" the police department's mission.

"Personal conduct and behavior (on duty as well as off duty) must be such that it does not bring disrepute or unnecessarily endanger the public's trust or confidence in the agency or its members."
