Deerfield Police Department Seeks Telecommunicator

The Deerfield Police Department is seeking applicants for a full-time telecommunicator position in our 9-1-1 Center. The Deerfield 9-1-1 Center is a state-of-the-art facility that dispatches for the Deerfield, Bannockburn, and Riverwoods Police Departments. It uses New World Systems CAD and Records Management System and Zetron Max Solutions. The position requires shift work including weekends and holidays.

Requirements:

*H.S. diploma or equivalent (with college preferred).

*Excellent communication/customer service skills.

*The ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.

*Must be able to type 25 wpm.

*Applicants must satisfactorily pass a background investigation and criminal history check.

*Preference will be given to applicants with police/fire dispatch experience.
