Deerfield Ranked Among Happiest Places in Illinois
Travel website only finds a handful of cities happier than the village, and most of them are downstate.
DEERFIELD, IL - A recent “Roadsnacks” list has Deerfield as one of the happiest places to call home in Illinois.
While focusing on the most “miserable” cities in Illinois (Riverdale was No. 1, followed by Harvey, Dolton and Chicago), the travel website also crunched numbers to find the happiest cities in the state. They could only find six brighter than Deerfield.
The site used seven criteria, including cost of living, unemployment rates and average commute times to rank the largest municipalities in the state.

Deerfield only trailed Forsyth, Mahomet, Sherman, Rochester, Oak Brook and Winnebago in the list of happy places. Roanoke, Morton and Washington rounded out the top ten.
