Deerfield Schools Closing Friday Due To Extreme Cold Forecast
Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero are expected, according to the National Weather Service.
DEERFIELD, IL — With dangerously cold weather set to freeze Chicagoland Friday, many Deerfield area schools are closing, with some opting for an e-learning day instead. The National Weather Service is predicting wind chills as low as 40 below zero, with an extreme cold warning being issued from 3 a.m. to noon on Friday for the area.
The weather service said there is a high confidence in a period of bitter cold with dangerous wind chills from Thursday night through Saturday morning. There is still some uncertainty on just how extreme the cold will be.

- Bannockburn School District 106 — closed Friday
