Deerfield Sets Spring Shredding, Compost Giveaway, Recycling Dates
Village events in May and June offer residents ways to shred papers, pick up compost and recycle electronics and textiles.

DEERFIELD, IL — Residents have three spring dates to mark down for paper shredding, a compost giveaway and electronics and textile recycling events organized by the village. The events are scheduled for May 2, May 9 and June 6 at Public Works and the Metra parking lot.
According to the village, the spring paper shredding, compost giveaway and electronics and textile recycling events are meant to give residents convenient ways to dispose of materials safely while reducing waste.
Officials said shredding helps protect personal information, recycling keeps electronics and textiles out of landfills and allows materials to be reused, and compost supports healthier lawns and gardens while reducing the need for fertilizer.
