Deerfield Yard Waste Pickups Begin

Get your yard waste stickers for the start of the summer landscape collection season.

DEERFIELD, IL — The start of April marks the beginning of Deerfield's yard waste collection season. In order for grass, leaves and other organic garden waste to be collected and composted, residents must separate it from recycling and trash and place it on the curb in 30-gallon biodegradable bags not exceeding 50 pounds each.

Each bag must have a sticker on it in order to be collected. Stickers are also required for every bundle of sticks or other pieces of yard waste under 50 pounds, 30 inches of circumference or four feet in length.

Pickups take place Tuesday for residents north of Deerfield Road. Yard waste is collected from those living south of Deerfield Road and Wednesday.
